What is a daisy wheel?

A daisy wheel is an ancient symbol representing good energy. It was used in the 15th and 16th and 17th centuries to bring good health and to ward off evil spirits. When you link together multiple daisy wheels you build another powerful symbol called the Flower of Life. This symbol is believed to represent the cycle of creation. The circle in the centre of the flower of life pattern represents how all life comes from a single source. The six circles that intersect it create the daisy wheel in the centre and represent cell division. It symbolises a blueprint to life, a fundamental building block for everything from atoms to celestial bodies. The origins of the symbolism can be traced back at least six thousand years.

We are lucky enough to have a very rare example of some daisy wheel paintings on the walls of the house where I live at Otley which date to around 1580s. I just love the ‘energy’ connection.
